Where We Go

Nestling just south of the equator, Rwanda is known as 'Le Pays des Milles Collines' or 'The Land of a Thousand Hills' made up of its mountains and chain of seven volcanoes that comprise this Central African country. Well known for its gorilla trekking, these provide some of the most enchanting and unforgettable wildlife experiences known to man.

Rwanda is home to the most stunning scenery in Africa, be it the dramatic Virunga volcanoes flanking Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo or the forested areas of Nyungwe, one of the greatest montane woodlands in Central Africa. It is also home to many chimpanzees and significant troupes of Colobus monkeys. The Parc National des Volcans (Volcanoes National Park) is arranged in northwest Rwanda and consists of thickly vegetated rainforest with bamboo offering ideal habitats to many endangered monkey species (13) and around 33% of the world's unique mountain gorillas. Within the brambles of Nyungwe lies another special wildlife experience. Here chimpanzees crash uproariously through the treetops and to experience these difficult to reach relatives with their human-like characteristics is another unmissable part of any Rwandan Safari.
